David Anastasiou

David Anastasiou (he/him) is a Cypriot concert pianist and chamber musician currently based in Glasgow, renowned for his expressive performances and versatile musical collaborations. He’s been a regular member of Garúa Tango Club since 2024.

David made his debut as a concert soloist in 2015, performing Franz Liszt’s Fantasia on Hungarian Folk Tunes with the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yorgos Kountouris. He then went on to perform solo concerts in Cyprus and Greece. He further honed his craft at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying with Petras Geniusas and Fali Pavri, and graduating in 2023 with First Class Honours. During his undergraduate studies, David was a frequent performer in various RCS series, including Mondays at One, Fridays at One, Piano and Dance, the RCS Big Guitar Weekend, and the Plug Festival.

His exceptional talent was recognized with several accolades, including first prize in the RCS Peter Lindsay Miller Competition, second prize in the RCS Classical Concerto Competition, and third prize in the Master Artist category (Chamber Music) at the Beethoven Young Musician competition.

As a dedicated chamber musician, David is a co-founder of the Immersio Duo (piano four hands) and Euphonia Duo (piano and violin), performing across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Cyprus. Beyond his performance career, David is also a dedicated piano teacher and choir director at the G12 Performing Arts Center in Glasgow.
