Eldon Bradfield

Eldon Bradfield (she/he/they) is an American violist and violinist living in Glasgow, Scotland. Graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2025, they enjoy an eclectic career across genres and performance styles, from playing in the Glasgow Bach Cantatas Society to touring Europe with Japanese post-rock band MONO.

A huge Piazzolla fan growing up, Eldon has been an avid member of Garúa Tango Club since 2024. Outside of their work in Garúa, they are the founder and coleader of mother tongues, a string ensemble bringing together the members’ multinational folk roots with their love of Classical music to make unique arrangements of pieces from all over the globe.

As well as being an accomplished performer they also work as an arranger and composer, with current projects including the upcoming premiere of an original arrangement of Carmen Fantasy for mother tongues and solo violin, as well as a concert featuring the photography and chamber works of Ernest Bloch with their arrangement of Poems of the Sea for string quartet, flute, and narrator.
