Megan Warnock

Megan Warnock (she/her) is a Scottish double bassist from Aberdeen who moved to Glasgow in 2019 to pursue her studies in music. She graduated in 2025 from the Classical Performance course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland after spending two years studying at the School of Music at Douglas Academy.

She was a founding member of Garúa Tango Club in 2023 and also takes on the role of Logistics Manager. As a Tango enthusiast she was delighted to perform Astor Piazzolla’s works Kicho and Contrabajissimo as a soloist with the band.

As a keen performer in both small and large ensembles and orchestras, Megan has performed in Scottish festivals such as Celtic Connections and Edinburgh International Festival, as well as in notable venues such as the Southbank Centre in London with the Studio Collective in 2023 and Konzerthaus Berlin with NYOS Camerata in 2024.

Megan’s interests also lie in the contemporary music scene and she has been involved in the ongoing noise project Laidak and will appear as a guest artist in the Nexus Project’s upcoming debut album. During her studies she presented her own electro-acoustic arrangement of L’Odyssée d’eau by François Rabbath which she created using electronically processed samples of her own playing.
